Summer Breakdown: Another deleted scene

“What are you doing, weirdo?” Ezra asks as he lays on the chair next to her. Jasmine’s garden is nice. Perfect and pretty, just like her house. It’s wild how much money she must have. There are flowers everywhere and she wishes she knew more about them so she could talk to her about it. There’s enough space for animals if she wanted. Frankie wants to go exploring.

“Just sitting in the sun.”

“You’re fully clothed and under the shade. You’re so pale, you are embarrassing me.”

Frankie frowns. “I’m darker than you are.”

“In your dreams,” Ezra replies with a scoff. “What’s going on with you and Jas?”

Frankie tries not to blush. God, whatever happened to a little decorum? Working up to sensitive topics. “What do you mean?”

“Are you dating?”

“Wh - what are you on about?” Is it that obvious that she wants to date her? Cam and Ezra figured out she was the girl from the bar because Frankie gave it away by talking about her too much. She’s not mad they know. But now, they’re all, just talk to her. As if.

“Just a question.”

“Stupid question,” she mutters.

“Okay, defensive.”

Ezra puts his arms behind his head. Frankie’s surprised he hasn’t got the tinfoil out to make sure his tan is even all over. “I haven’t said anything this month.”

Frankie groans as she toes off her slides. Ezra has one day a month where he’s allowed to say some cringe Pinterest quote that he finds hilarious and that makes Frankie want to die. He means well, everything he does is on purpose. She just wasn't expecting it today.

“You’re allowed nice things,” he says and Frankie frowns. That’s not on his usual level. Most of the time, he’s telling her to reach for the moon because if she fails, she’ll land in the stars, and she wants to cringe, but she does fucking love stars.

“I know.”

“Okay,” he replies. “Jasmine is a nice thing. You are allowed to want her.”
